Yes of course, but that's just not possible.... Enter Algy's Autos. We are a large car Importer with Offices and garages in Japan, Cyprus and the UK. We will source, inspect and purchase for you. We will then import it in your name and do all that is required for you at our Bristol Garage; we will even deliver to your home address!

3. Place a fully refundable £350 commission fee with us and we will start to source vehicles for you. You will get photos, an independant inspection and advice from us.
4. When you have selected the used car that interests you (take as long and see as many reports as you like) we will try to purchase on your behalf. If successful we will then convey the car to our nearest Japan Garage and re-inspect, pass further comments and a catologue of photographs.
5. We import the car for you, carry out all customs clearances and transport to our UK garage.
6. We will then Mot, Iva, conduct UK conversions and arrange UK registration. You can of course request anything further you require at the garage as we have full facilities including up-grades, mechanics, alarms, cosmetics etc.
7. We will then prepare the car for your collection or deliver it to your home address.

The Fuller Explanation:

We have tried our best to simplify the system for ease of reference. Firstly why can you purchase a used car from Japan at such a low price? Well if for example a UK Trader purchases a car from Japan at £3000 and then through all the expenditure, VAT, Shipping, Duties and his profit, he sells it for £8000 (which is about the correct mark up necessary for business) he would of paid over £1500 in Duties alone, which is obviously passed onto the customer within the price. The cost for VAT as a private importer is based on the purchase price, therefore for the same car you would only pay £446.

So now you realise that to buy a used Japanese car direct from Japan is the obvious method of owning a quality car at a fraction of the UK Forecourt price. The problem is of course how do you go about it? It is fraught with rules, regulations, restrictions and uncertainty. Who is the Exporter in Japan? Is he 'Bona-Fida'? Now that he's sold the car to me how do I ship it? Register it? IVA it? Obtain a Model Report? Customs clear it? Pay VAT and Duty? Pay Port fees? Submit all the correct documentation? The list is endless. Hence the obstacles are so many that the market is restricted to the trade and the Brave!! Except....... Between us we select the cars. We then carry out all the necessary documentation and testing for UK compliance.
